Description

The FSRZI-SA Remote Zone Indicator is a wall-mounted annunciator module for fire-alarm control panels that displays the status of individual detection zones. It uses five bi-color LEDs (red for alarm, yellow for supervisory/monitor) to visibly indicate when zones enter alarm or supervisory states, enabling remote monitoring away from the main panel. The unit mounts in a standard single-gang electrical box (or multi-gang with optional trim plate) and connects via the supervised serial annunciator bus common to compatible control systems.

Model/SKU: FSRZI-SA
Brand: Edwards / Kidde (FireShield-series)
Function: Remote zone-status indicator — displays alarm or supervisory/monitor conditions for up to five zones on a fire-alarm control panel.
Ratings: 18.8–27.3 VDC (nominal 24 VDC) input; standby current ~ 8 mA, alarm/supervisory current ~ 76 mA at 24 VDC.
Dimensions: Fits standard single-gang electrical box; depth and face-plate conform to standard form-factor for gang-box mounting.
Material: Indoor-rated plastic housing and faceplate (per typical low-voltage annunciator construction)
LED Indicators: 5 bi-color LEDs — red (alarm) and yellow (supervisory/monitor). Jumpers configure which zones (IDC 1–5 or IDC 6–10) are indicated.
Wiring / Connectivity: Connects to supervised low-voltage serial annunciator bus using 12–18 AWG wiring; power-limited, regulated 24 VDC supply required; modules must be “detected” by the control panel before usable.
Mounting / Installation: Installs in standard 1-gang (or multi-gang) electrical box; can be combined with other annunciators (e.g., system indictor) in multi-gang installations using optional trim plates.
Compatibility: Designed for use with the manufacturer’s F-series (or compatible) fire alarm control panels supporting serial annunciator bus and zone-reporting remote indicators.
Why It Matters: Enables remote, decentralized monitoring of fire-alarm zones — useful in large buildings or multi-floor installations where visibility of panel status at multiple locations improves response time and situational awareness.
